Vintage Perfume Bottles...

As I was straightening up my closet, I found my mom's vintage perfume bottles.  Oh just getting them out, and the smell of the light perfume scent remaining in them...well it just makes me feel like I am looking at then with mom here with me.

I love how when she left us, she had everything somewhat organized. The box was noted, and the bottles were all together and wrapped in tissue....

I am sure I will find a way to display them, for now I am just enjoying them. I have some favorites like this very art deco one...

And this blue one is just so lovely...

And this crystal type one with the "wow" big flower stopper...those were the days!

It makes me think of Hollywood in the old days, and those great old Hollywood movie classics...

And this last picture just screams Art Deco period of 30's and 40's...at least to me it does...

The last bottle is the one that she had on her dresser when she left us, and though not vintage, very special...

Thanks for taking the time to reminisce with me today!

And welcome new blogger friends from "Grow Your Blog" I will come visit you too!

So pretty! I especially like the one with the tall stopper with a flower on top. I love pulling stuff like that out from time to time and looking through them. The smell really can take you back in time.

Hi Jan! I remember that my mom used to keep those Avon bottles that were so popular back in the 1960s. I don't know what happened to them. I don't know if they would be considered "vintage." Look like you have a very nice collection.

Jan,
thanks you for stoping by my blog! I absolutely LOVE your Mother's perfume bottle collection...It reminds me of my own Mother's perfumes and bottles....Such a sweet memory for you of your mother....I also had a hard time releasing many of my Mother's things....I still, after four years, find myself saying...It's okay that you didn't keep that, you can't keep everything....but my heart is still wishing I had taken a million pictures at least! I however have more siblings and most of us took home quite a bit. And ther are a few things I hav eto try really hard to not mourn....but I still do on occasion...ah well, I still have the memories of the items and mostly importantly, memories of my mother....
Hugs to you, while your heart is warmed as you reminisce...
Hearts,
Betsy

What a sweet post! And what a treasure your mother was to know that someday someone would be gently looking through the things that gave her such pleasure while on earth. My favorite perfume bottle is the blue one. I love its squat shape detailed with the cut glass! I am your newest follower!

Hello Gloria,
What a delightful blog. I enjoyed reading about how the name 'The Pink Geranium' came into being too.
The perfume bottles are so beautiful and I can't help thinking what stories they might tell if only they could talk!!!
I'm your newest follower and am looking forward to catching up with you regularly.
Have fun with the blog hopping :D

It really is a wonderful collection. The size and shapes really do show a lot of history of design. It is great to see them all out on the circular mat. I remember that some women had mirrored trays or circles of glass to set their scented bottles on top of the dresser or vanity.

Hi Jan, this is double n Jann. Anyone with such a great name can't be half bad. lol! Seriously, I love your sweet bottle collection! The fact that they were your dear mothers make them even more special. One day I was tending my little 3 yr. old granddaughter. I put some old perfume on her and showed her how you do it. Her dad picked her up after work. Later I got a text from my daughter saying, "Mom, Saydee smells like grandma" Oh how it made me smile. Thanks for sharing with Share Your Cup. Now following you.
hugs,
Jann
